Questions at the gate

The things parents, grandparents and teachers ask us most, grouped by topic.

Cooperative play

How does a cooperative game actually end?

Everyone wins together when the shared goal is reached, such as all the owls reaching the nest, or everyone loses together when the game's own timer runs out, such as the sun rising first.

Will my competitive child find cooperative games boring?

Usually not. The tension comes from racing the game, not each other. Try Gnomes at Night or Space Escape for older kids who like a challenge.

Which game should we start with?

For ages 3 to 5, Count Your Chickens! or Hoot Owl Hoot!. For a toddler, Monkey Around. For ages 6 and up, Gnomes at Night or Qwirkle.

Ages and pieces

Can a younger sibling play a game marked for older kids?

Often yes with help, but check the small-parts warning on the box first. Age marks on the box are the manufacturer's, and we copy them as they are.

How big is a jumbo floor puzzle when finished?

Most cover roughly three by two feet. The exact size is listed on each product page.

What is a pass-along puzzle?

A 500-piece puzzle meant to be finished and then passed on to a friend or relative to build next.

Stickers, diaries and valentines

Do reusable stickers stop sticking?

The clings lose grip when dusty. Wipe them with a damp cloth, let them dry and they hold again.

What if a diary key gets lost?

Most lock-and-key diaries come with two keys. Some, like the Cuties diary, include a necklace to keep a key on.

How many valentines are in a pack?

Most packs hold 28, enough for a typical class with a few spares.

Buying and returns

Where do I pay?

At our partner store. The buy button opens the official listing there in a new tab.

Why does the price there differ from this page?

Prices change during the day. Each page shows when the price was checked, and the partner store always shows the current one.

Who do I contact about a damaged or missing order?

The partner store, through your order. Our page about missing pieces explains each case.
